Mario Kon received a diploma and fifth year graduate certificate and award from School of Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. He lives and works in Boston. Recently he has had solo exhibitions in Boston, New York and Hamilton, MA. He has participated in group shows in New York and Massachusetts.
"Synthesizing elements of painting, sculpture, collage, and drawing, Mario Kon creates works that resist a single classification. Gouged, carved, cut, assembled, burned, painted. or stained, Kon's original piece of plywood becomes the physical record of his creative process. It is both additive and subtractive work: the artist composes by removing bits of wood and sometimes re-attaching them." From his website.
